Brett Dennen is a 38-year-old American musician who has become one of the most promising artists in the world. Brett has a net worth of $ 800 thousand.
Born in October 1979 in Oakdale, California, he found inspiration to start playing the guitar while still very young. His love for acoustic music, jam sessions and groups like Pearl Jam and Rage against the Machine blossomed. After graduating, and realizing that he preferred to play solo than in groups, came his first concerts in cafes, and in 2004 his first self-titled album.
Brett began to make small tours, more and more frequently, obtaining its first fans in the west coast. After appearances at local festivals, “it was part of the process of starting to make noise. After a couple of small festivals, I got enough confidence to become the opening act in clubs.”
After a year of constant touring, in the spring of 2006, Dennen began recording his second album in Jackson Browne’s studio in Santa Monica. The sessions lasted only five days and a couple of months later, in November; ‘So Much More’ saw the light. Brett recalls, “Things started slowly … but everything was starting to happen.”
Then Seattle’s KMTT began to put “She’s Mine” followed by other stations in Portland and San Francisco. Popular television series such as ‘Scrubs’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘House’ began to use their themes recurrently. Media critics highlighted his folk heart, his passion, and his exquisite taste as a singer along with his delicate ways as a composer. The Washington Post referred to that work as “A revelation of the best folk.” All together, I took the album to the top of the iTunes Folk charts, where it remained for several months.
But it is his charisma as a live musician, and the undeniable connection he has managed to establish with audiences around the world that have been essential in his promotion. He has performed alongside John Mayer, John Butler Trio, Colbie Caillat, Rodrigo and Gabriela and Ben Folds, in front of fans that have little to do except his devotion to Brett’s music.
After Rolling Stone proclaims it to be one of the “Top 10 Artists of 2008”, Brett Dennen has proven to be one of the most talented talents of modern music; An artist who connects with the public both on the disk and live in a way that very few can – someone who has already made a difference
