Celebrity News: Conor McGregor was defeated at the Boxing circuit by Floyd Mayweather Jr, and it is time for the Irishman to return to the UFC to defend the lightweight championship. If Conor returns to the Octagon, he most likely has to face the Tony Ferguson vs. Kevin Lee, who will fight at UFC 216 for the 155-pound interim belt.
However, ‘The Notorious’ also has outstanding accounts with the only man who has been able to beat him in the UFC cage, we refer to Nate Diaz. Diaz and McGregor have fought in 2 opportunities with a victory for each one.
Irish Boxing Coach Owen Roddy gave an interview for ‘The MMA Hour’, where he expressed his desire to see Conor entering the Octagon to play for the third time against the younger Diaz brothers (via MMAFighting):
Owen Roddy: “I would probably like to see the third fight with Diaz, but obviously we have Ferguson and Lee fighting for the interim belt. If (Conor) has to fight again in MMA, it will probably be the winner (Ferguson vs. Lee). ”
“In my opinion, the reason I say Diaz is because those fights were very exciting. The preparation is so exciting, it goes from one place to another … There is nothing like that. It’s just crazy. ”
“The two fights against Diaz were probably the most exciting camps I’ve ever been part of. To do that would be incredible. As I see it, fans would love this over anything. “
