The day finally arrived. The new president came to the White House accompanied by his wife and son.
“This moment is the moment of the people. It belongs to all who are here and to all who are seeing us throughout the United States.” This way was how Donald Trump defined his inauguration as the 45th president of US history in an inaugural speech that lasted about 20 minutes.
After swearing in a ceremony at the Capitol in Washington D.C., the Republican said: “We will remember this day as the day when people regained control of their government.”
The moment is the end of a problematic road towards the White House of the real estate mogul, who won the elections last November after a campaign marked by the controversy. Trump said his arrival at the White House means that power is being “transferred” from politicians to people.
“This American carnage stops right here” a phrase with which Donald Trump defined his government. Thousands of Republican sympathizers from across the country traveled to the nation’s capital to attend the ceremony at the National Mall.
Addressing the citizens of his country, Trump told them that “they will no longer be forgotten,” regardless of which political party predominates over the government.
From his inaugural speech, Trump said that the policy of “protection” will be the one that will lead to his government, both in economic aspects and in matters of international politics. And is that during his campaign and in the days following his electoral triumph, Trump said he would cut military operations that benefit other countries and would require the industry to create their products on US soil
He said that from this January 20 onwards the “new vision” of the government would be one: “The United States first.” The Republican constructed his campaign around the idea that the working class of the country was unprotected of the policies of Washington D.C., the reason why it promised to attend them.
In his message to other nations, he said his government would be “friendship and goodwill,” but putting America’s interests first. The “protection” will be the foundation of the new “prosperity and strength” of his country, he said in his speech Friday.
