Preparing for the arrival of the second child can be as rewarding and special as the first time. But it also comes with many concerns especially if your first pregnancy was difficult or had complications.
That is exactly what is happening to Helen Skelton who is pregnant with her second baby and says that she is very nervous because in her first pregnancy had complications during childbirth.
Helen spoke to the Sunday Express’ S Magazine about her experience during her first pregnancy and all the complications she had while giving birth to her son Ernie. That is why during this new experience she and her husband Rugby player Richie Myler feel very nervous as they do not want to live the same with this second pregnancy.
The presenter who is currently living in the south of France plans to have a more traditional birth because during her first pregnancy suffered complications because her baby was born with the umbilical cord around his neck
Helen said: ‘With Ernie, I was all about the pain-free birth in the water with aromatherapy, but life teaches you a few things.
‘I’ve had friends who’ve had awful situations, and my little boy’s cord was round his neck, so I’m a bit more realistic that it’s a big deal and stuff does go wrong, so I’m more nervous this time.
‘And last time I left it too late for any pain relief, but you do not win any medals for that, so I’ll be asking for the drugs very early on
The round or circular cord is one of the great worries about childbirth because as is normal, it scares that it can drown the baby. The baby moves inside the mother’s belly, so the cord is rolled up and unwound around your body, your arm, your leg or your neck.
Helen has shown fans her belly weeks before giving birth, in one of the photos shows her advanced pregnancy wearing a jumpsuit, with a side pose, while watching the sunset.
In the photo Helen wrote: “Countdown … #pregnancy #bump # 37weeks.
