Kevin James LaBrie was born on May 5, 1963, in the town of Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada, vocalist best known as the lead singer of the progressive rock band Dream Theater and has a net worth of $ 4

James started singing and playing drums at age 5. In his youth, LaBrie was a member of many bands like singer or drummer. James decided to leave the battery aside at age 17, and at 18 in 1981, decided to go to Toronto to study.

After a season in several bands, LaBrie became the vocalist of glam metal band Winter Rose that released the album of the same name for 1989.

In 1990, LaBrie learns that the North American band of Progressive Rock ‘Dream Theater’ were looking for a singer, so he decided to send a model and quickly flew to New York for the final audition. Finally, LaBrie was chosen from more than 200 singers who performed at the auditions, becoming the lead vocalist and full-time band.

LaBrie has since left a major mark on the vocal portion of each “Dream Theater” album but has also contributed to the songwriting portion of the band’s all-encompassing albums except for two of them Images & Words and Black Clouds & Silver Linings respectively.

LaBrie along with Matt Guillory has released four albums under various names (Mullmuzzler, James LaBrie’s Mullmuzzler, and James LaBrie). In September of 2010, James released his last work as a soloist Static Impulse that contains 12 songs and with the collaborations of Matt Guillory in the keyboards, Marco Sfogli (Elements of Persuasion) in the guitar, Peter Wildoer of the band Darkane in the battery and Guttural voices and Ray Riendeau on bass.

In 2011, James claimed that the Static Impulse tour in the United States was canceled due to lack of documentation for the other members of the band. During her career at Dream Theater, LaBrie has lent her voice to many albums by several artists as well as several tribute albums.

In 1991, shortly before joining Dream Theater, LaBrie did background vocals for the song “Life in Still Water” from the band’s Parallels album Fates Warning. James has also appeared on several albums by Trent Gardner (including Leonardo: The Absolute Man and Explorer’s Club) as well as albums by other artists such as Ayreon (The Human Equation, released in 2004), Shadow’s Gallery, Tim Donahue and Frameshift.

The album Concerto In True Minor – 3 Rock Tenors was released on iTunes and Amazon on March 28, 2008, under the labels Brainworx and Marinsound.
