Celebrity News: He’ll try to wrest the WBO welterweight belt from him. Jeff Horn has a 10-step plan to beat Pacquiao
Australian boxer Jeff Horn has a 10-step plan to take on legendary Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, who will try to snatch the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight belt next July 1, said Monday his trainer.
Pacquiao, one of the best boxers of his generation (59-6-2, 38 KOs), leaves as a favorite to prevail against unbeaten Horn in Sunday’s fight at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
But Glenn Rushton, coach of the Australian wrestler, claims to have been watching hours of Filipino fights and have a plan of action with which to inflict on Pacquiao a surprise defeat.
“I have no doubt this is going to be a much better fight than we’ve seen against (Floyd) Mayweather, even (Jessie) Vargas and (Timothy) Bradley” Rushton said,” I think we’ve eliminated all of the problems. That a lot of these fighters have had.
“I’ve got a 10-point plan and Jeff is the only person who has that 10-point plan. I said to him, follow the plan and we win the fight, simple as that.” Said the coach.
Horn, 29, a former schoolteacher, has won 16 of his 17 bouts and claims to have been reviewing Rushton’s program until he knows it by heart.
“It’s a plan I’ve heard him speak to me about 1,000 times. It’s perfectly worded, “he said.”Reading over it is just like listening to him talk to me in the ring.” What he’s written down is spot on, and I can get the job done if I follow him 100 per cent. ”
Pacquiao, who retired momentarily last year to star in a successful comeback last November against Jessie Vargas, said on arrival in Australia that he was sure he could beat Horn in a scheduled event that is expected to reach 50,000 viewers.
