At the age of 19, Meek Millz, along with three of his friends formed a rap group called “TheBloodHoundz”. The group lasted long enough to release four mixtapes. In 2007, at the age of 19, he released his solo mixtape, titled El año, he released two more mixtapes, The Real Me 2 and Flamerz. By the end of 2011, he had published five other mixtapes.
In March 2011, he was included in Millz XXL “First Class Class of 2011”. Later that same year, he released his solo debut, “Tupac Back”, with Rick Ross, from his album compilation label Self Made Vol. 1. That same year they released another single off the album, “Boss Ima”, also with Ross. The song was later remixed with TI, Birdman, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz and Rick Ross. The remix tracked on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached # 51. “Ima Boss” is now the most successful song of Meek Mill, reaching number 20 on the Hot R & B / Hip-Hop Songs charts. In 2008, he was arrested under arraignment and sentenced to eight months in jail.
In October 2012, Meek Mill announced the release of their own label, Dream Chasers Records, named for their popular mixtape series. He also revealed that several rappers have already signed in Philadelphia.
In 2015 Meek Mill released their second studio album, titled Dreams Worth More Than Money, receiving favorable reviews from their fans.
