In 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the premiere of the movie that would change entertainment, film and science fiction forever. Star Wars: A New Hope arrived in 1977 and with her many discovered the talent and charisma of a Carrie Fisher whom we miss. The 40 Years of Star Wars panel was held during the celebration of the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, and among the testimonies of George Lucas and the protagonists, Carrie Fisher had the homage she deserved.
All the members of the original casting have spoken about her and have given way to an emotive video in which you can see pictures of Fisher embodying Leia and speaking in multiple events and interviews. To make matters worse, immediately after the conclusion of the video, the legendary composer John Williams was present to lead the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in his interpretation of the musical theme of Leia.
Four months after the death of Carrie Fisher, the eternal Princess Leia in the franchise, the event that began this Thursday already lived a special moment when a video tribute dedicated to the star was shown.
During the opening panel, the creator of the saga, George Lucas, appeared on the scene dedicating words to the actress, and what made her choose to play Leia Organa. George said that when Carrie appeared, she was that character. She was very strong, very intelligent, very funny, very daring, very hard told the filmmaker. She also said that there are not many people like her: she was one among millions; I flatter her saying that she was brilliant and obviously we will all miss her. But it will always be the princess who took over and never backed down.
Later, Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd (Scream Queens), who made her first public appearance after the death of her mother, took place on December 27th.
The actress, recently announced the cast of American Horror Story 7, commented: “My mother used to say that she never knew where Princess Leia ended and Carrie Fisher started. Like Leia, she was never afraid to say what she thought and says things that made people feel uncomfortable. Nothing about her was a performance. ”
