Celebrity News : Tom Hardy starts a campaign to support those affected by the fire at the Grenfell Tower
Actor Tom Hardy has created a crowdfunding page to support those affected by the fire at London’s Grenfell Tower. The fire on the West London tower block has claimed the lives of 30 people since it broke out in the early hours of Wednesday morning and police say the figure is likely to rise.
Now, Tom Hardy has raised £15,000 for the affected people through a page of crowdfunding opened in the online platform JustGiving. ” “As a Londoner and as a human being, it is impossible to be unaffected by the harrowing, unnecessary loss of life, injury, sorrow, and the continuing desperate and disturbing situation facing those that were residents of Grenfell Tower, Latimer Road West London. It is impossible not to feel deep, profound shock and just stand by and not make the effort to help those who are innocent victims of a seemingly gross negligence.” Hardy wrote on the page.
“For me, culpability and accountability falls entirely on those responsible for providing secure, safe housing for those who live in public housing and the citizens/residents of the UK who are vulnerable. It is shameful. There must be a dramatic change”. Continued.
It is not the first time that the British actor has a solidarity initiative of this type. He recently launched a similar campaign on behalf of the victims of the Manchester bombing, an initiative that raised nearly £ 39,000.
Officially, the origin of the fire has not yet been determined, although all suspicions point to the facade cladding panels with highly flammable material, installed in a recent remodeling. The neighbors speak of the smell of burnt plastic with which it all began. According to several witnesses, in less than half an hour the entire building was engulfed in flames.
