Celebrity News: ‘Barry Seal: The Trafficker’ shares space on the billboard with the Spanish thriller ‘The Fog and the Maiden’, among other premieres
Tom Cruise returns again to monopolize the billboard after his step as a mercenary in The Mummy. In Barry Seal is an experienced pilot turned into a drug dealer, arms dealer, undercover agent of the CIA and informant of the DEA who ends up reporting Pablo Escobar himself. Based on real events, this is the grand premiere of this first weekend of September, which also comes loaded with Spanish cinema, comedy, and drama.
Barry Seal: The Dealer
Director Doug Liman and Tom Cruise return to work together after Tomorrow’s Edge (2014) in this interesting biopic about Barry Seal, also known as Barriman, a daring American pilot who became a major drug dealer for the Medellín. He was later recruited by the DEA Intelligence Department and the CIA for the Iran-Contra scandal.
Domhnall Gleeson, Jayma Mays, Sarah Wright, Jesse Plemons and Lola Kirke accompany a Cruise who has once again demonstrated his passion for risk (remember that he broke his ankle during the filming of Mission Impossible 6) performing all the pilot scenes of the tape without a double. Filmed in Medellín and other Colombian locations, the film lands in the booming rooms on the figure of Escobar, present in the Narcos series and Loving Escobar, directed by Fernando León de Aranoa and starring Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz.
